Jacksonville Weekly Gas Price Update, June 20

Average retail gasoline prices in Jacksonville have fallen 2.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.52/g yesterday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 4.8 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.66/g, according to gasoline price website JacksonvilleGasPrices.com.

Passengers Stuck on Plane Returning From Baltimore

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Passengers on flight 1007 from Baltimore have deplaned after being stuck at the gate for about 25 minutes.

The reason for the delay is due to the front door to the plane becoming stuck.

First Coast News Managing Editor Casey Clark was on that flight and snapped these pictures for us of the commotion on the plane.

Ground crews with Southwest Airlines brought an open stairwell to the rear of the plane for passengers to deplane through the back exit.

At this time everyone has deplaned safely.

Average retail gasoline prices in Jacksonville have fallen 4.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.54/g yesterday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 5.1 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.71/g, according to gasoline price website JacksonvilleGasPrices.com.

Jacksonville Lane Closings, Week of June 13

I-10 resurfacing and widening project between Lane Avenue and Halsema Road

I-10 westbound between Lane Avenue and the Cecil Commerce Center Parkway (SR 23) and the I-10 westbound ramps at I-295, Marietta and Chaffee Road WILL BE TOTALLY CLOSED from 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 until approximately noon on Sunday, June 12. Detour signs will be posted. One westbound lane on I-10 will be closed on Sunday, June 12 from noon until approximately 6:30 p.m. The ramp from I-295 northbound to I-10 westbound WILL BE TOTALLY CLOSED on the night of Friday, June 10 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour signs will be posted. The on and off ramps for I-10 eastbound traffic to Chaffee Road WILL BE TOTALLY CLOSED between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. on the nights of Tuesday, June 14 and Wednesday, June 15. Detour signs will be posted. Single eastbound lanes will be closed between 6:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. and westbound lanes may be closed between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. from Sunday, June 12 to Friday, June 17. This project is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2012.

OMCC Participates in Roadcheck 2011

The Florida Department of Transportation Office of Motor Carrier Compliance will take part in Roadcheck 2011, an international activity that will take place June 7-9 throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Jacksonville Weekly Gas Price Update, May 23

Average retail gasoline prices in Jacksonville have fallen 10.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.75/g yesterday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 8.8 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.83/g, according to gasoline price website JacksonvilleGasPrices.com.

Including the change in gas prices in Jacksonville during the past week, prices yesterday were 99.8 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 1.7 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 0.1 cents per gallon during the last month and stands $1.04/g higher than this day one year ago.
