Duval County Public Schools Improve Spring 2011 FCAT 2.0 Grades

The Florida Department of Education has released the results of the Spring 2011 FCAT 2.0 Grades 4-10 Reading and Grades 4-8 Mathematics assessments, as well as the results of the Spring 2011 Grade 10 FCAT Mathematics and Grades 5, 8, and 11 FCAT Science assessments.  Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) has shown improvement in 11 different areas while scores stayed the same in 3 others.

Duval County 2011 FCAT 2.0 Grade 3 Math Scores Show Marked Improvement

The Florida Department of Education has released the 2011 Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) results for grade three reading and mathematics. For the fifth straight year Duval County Public Schools’ grade three math scores continue to improve. This year’s math scores are a full five points over the state average.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church and Day School Break Ground on $5 Million Capital Campaign

June 5, 2011 is the date of the groundbreaking ceremony for St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and Day School’s $5 million capital campaign entitled “We Are One.” The campaign will create a Campus Green uniting the church and school campuses, a new Commons Building for the Day School, enlarge the church’s existing chapel and add additional parking.  “This campaign has had incredible momentum from the beginning,” said George Egan, We Are One Co-Chair. “Our church and day school make a big step into the future with these projects.”
