Her teaching style - full of enthusiasm - causes students to love learning.

"She's one of the nicest people I've ever met," said student Riley Cozart. Cozart had Shelor as a teacher twice and nominated her for Teacher of the Week.

"She was my first-grade teacher," Cozart said. "She was teaching me my ABCs, and now she's my fourth-grade teacher, and now she's teaching us how to read very properly."

Shelor enjoys seeing the kids' personalities shine.

"That is the best reward: to see a child succeed and improve their self esteem and self confidence," Shelor said.
