Since 1987, Walmart® and Sam’s Club® have been hosting balloon icon campaigns. During the 2011 campaign that ran from May 1 through June 11, the Sam’s Club on Busch Drive was able to raise $42,000 for our local area hospitals, Shands Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital, both of which are Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.

Sam’s Club and their associates made this amount a reality by hosting events that included a basketball tournament, garage sales, car shows, and various in store competitions.  This location was also a top fundraiser in their division and received an incentive of $10,000  from the Walmart Foundation to donate to the Shands Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital.   The campaign nationwide raised over $28 million.

During the past 22 years, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Walmart have worked tirelessly together to help children by raising money for children’s hospitals. Since 1987, Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members have raised more than $460 million for children’s hospitals.
